Amazon Studios Options Children's Series

Amazon Studios, the Los Angeles production arm of Amazon.com, said Thursday that it has optioned two new children's series. The firm--which has been ramping efforts in Hollywood to produce content specifically for Amazon's streaming video services--said it has optioned "Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street" created by David Anaxagoras, and "Javi and the Treehouse Club" by Federico Badia. The two children's series come on top of three, existing comedy series the firm recently optioned. All of the projects are part of a crowd-sourced effort to find scripts that the firm can turn into exclusive content for Amazon. Amazon offers up video streaming as part of its Amazon Prime service.
