Amp'd Goes Prepaid

Los Angeles-based MVNO Amp'd Mobile is going prepaid, saying yesterday that it will offer a pre-paid version of its mobile phone services. Amp'd will offer its youth-oriented, multimedia cell phone service to consumers that allows consumers to buy a phone and then pay as you go for service. The company said that it will allow consumers to purchase credits for the service through their phone, online, or by calling member services. Amp'd will offer its services at 10 cents a minute for its pre-paid services. Amp'd is focusing its services around providing live television, events, music, and multimedia in hopes of attracting the trendy 18-35 year old crowd, and has inked deals with MTV and others.
