Anybeat Rolls Out Chat Roulette Feature

Taking a chapter out of the popularity of sites like Chatroulette in connecting up strangers with one another, Los Angeles-based Anybeat, the alternative social networking site run by Dmitri Shapiro, said Friday that it has rolled out a new feature called "Interest Roulette". The new feature automatically connects users to other people on the site, who share interests with your profile. AnyBeat is backed by Freestyle Capital, Social Leverage, Arthur Bilger, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Howard Lindzon, Tom Anderson, Alex Bard, Alex Karelin, Kenny Van Zant, and Francis Costello. Shapiro was the founder of Veoh and former CTO of MySpace Music. Anybeat is looking to differentiate itself from Facebook and Google Plus by supporting online pseudonyms, ways to connect with people you don't already know by interests, support of both private and public groups, among other features.
