Big Stage Adds New Content From GGL Global Gaming

Pasadena-based Big Stage Entertainment, the startup which uses photos to create animated, 3-D facial avatars of users, has added new content from a game from GGL Global Gaming. Big Stage told its users yesterday that they could now insert their avatars into content from Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, a video game published by Funcom. Financial details of the deal have not been released, however, the two companies first inked a deal to feature GGL's content in Big Stage in December of last year. The new content deal also came in conjunction with new features which allow users to add their own, custom backgrounds into BigStage's site. Big Stage is a spinout of technology from USC, originally developed for the CIA. The firm's software allows users to upload photos to create their own, 3-D avatars, which can then be inserted into online greeting cards, scenes from movies, photos, and other media. Big Stage is venture backed by Mission Ventures, Selby Ventures, and the Tech Coast Angels.
