CALIENT Technologies Offers New Security Product

Santa Barbara-based CALIENT Technologies, which provides optical circuit switching technology, said today that it has linked up with American Networking Solutions to offer up a cyber-security product. According to CALIENT, it is offering up a new product called the CyberSecure Infrastructure Protection System (IPS), which secures and monitors physical fiber cable infrastructure. The company said the new product is aimed at protecting government and enterprise networks, and helps alert companies when fiber optic cables are tapped and classified data is compromised. The company said the new product will detect disturbances on a network cable and reroute network traffic to alternate networks to avoid exposure of sensitive data.
