Conexant Sells Wireless Patents

Newport Beach-based Conexant Systems, a manufacturer of semiconductors for networking, imaging and other industries, said Monday that it has sold certain domestic and international wireless patents at the firm for $15M to an undisclosed firm. According to Conexant, the firm sold the patents because it discontinued its investments in standalone wireless networking product development in November of 2007. The company said it retains the right to incorporate the wireless intellectual property in any current and future products.
