DTS Partners With Korean Smart Phone Firm

Calabasas-based DTS, a developer of surround sound technology, said today that it has entered into a deal with Korean mobile smartphone manufacturer Pantech Co., Ltd., to bring its technology to the mobile market. According to DTS, the deal calls for Pantech to launch products in April in Korea which incorporate its digital surround technology. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed. DTS said that the Pantech smartphones will include its DTS Legacy decoder, through a 2-channel analog and 2-channel PCM output through a mini HDMI port.
