DataRemote, Kyocera Launch Machine Communications Tools

San Diego-based Kyocera Wireless and Ventura-based DataRemote announced this morning that the two companies are rolling out three CDMA-based machine-to-machine communications tools. The companies have rolled out a modem, tracking software, and management software that connects equipment to the CDMA network. The technology, based on Kyocera's 200 Module, allows plant equipment and other devices to be connected to a wireless network. The module provides an RJ11 telephone jack which simulates a land line connection for legacy equipment, easily converting existing equipment to use a CDMA network. The product is targeted at the utilities, banking, transportation, trucking, and other industries that utilitize wireless telemetry and other remote communications with equipment.
