DivX Signs Manufacturers

San Diego-based DivX released a slew of announcements this morning around recent design wins for the company's highly compressible video format. The company is showing its technology in solutions from Meedio, TransTechnology, DK digital, and Panasonic Germany. Meedio has incorporated DivX video in its software for PC-based home entertainment systems; TransTechnology has rolled out DivX support on its line of DVD players for the European market; DK digital has certified DivX DVD devices; and Panasonic Germany has incorporated the DivX decoder in a line of standalone DVD players. DivX provides a video compression format that it is marketing to digital video software and hardware manufacturers.
