Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Targets Publishers With Directory Technology

Los Angeles-based Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp., the online business credit company headed by serial tech entrepreneur Jeff Stibel, is looking to make its technology avialable to traditional publishers looking to go online, the firm said last week. The company said it has launched the Credibility Review Business Marketplace, technology which can be used by publishers to launch and publish their own, online directories.

According to the firm, the new platform lets traditional print-based publishers create their own online directories, combining that information with web data like social media, reviews, business credit information, and more. D&B Credibility said the new platform is powered by its D&B Credibility Review, its own online business directory featuring the profiles of over 30 million businesses. Pricing and details on the new platform were not announced.

Stibel is the former CEO of Web.com and former GM at United Online, and is backed by over $100M in capital from Great Hill. D&B Credibility has been looking to leverage the venerable Dun & Bradstreet brand and database of customers by offering up new, web-based services to those customers.
