EdgeCast Signs Latin America Partner

Los Angeles-based content delivery network provider EdgeCast Networks is announcing today that it has signed on a new, Latin American partner. According to EdgeCast, it has signed a deal to interconnect Samba Tech, a provider of rich media content management in Latin America, with its content delivery network. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. EdgeCast said that the deal will add Samba Tech's customers--which include SBT, Brazil's second largest television station, and soccer team Atletico-MG, to its network. EdgeCast's network will be used to move content to its points of presence in Los Angeles, New York, London, and Tokyo, rather than streaming video from servers in South America.
