Emulex Ties With IBM POWER Group

Costa Mesa-based Emulex, the developer of high speed networking equipment, said yesterday that it has joined the OpenPOWER foundation, the industry group which supports IBM's POWER hardware and software stack. Emulex said it provides its equipment for IBM POWER platforms, and the move will help improve the functionality and value of that platform. The company said it joined the group as a preparation for transition to Gen 5 Fibre Channel and 40GB Ethernet.
