Filmaka Ties With Advertising Firm

Los Angeles-based Filmaka, an online digital entertainment studio, said today that it has partnered with WhatOnEarthIsGoingOn? Ltd., an advertising firm focused on social change. According to the two firms, WhatOnEarthIsGoingOn will launch a series of quarterly competitions on Filmaka, which will award filmmakers with prizes for creating flims on "positive social change." The films will be showcased on WhatOnEarth's channel on MSN, and fifteen finalists will be awarded $1,500. The top film will get $10,000 each to make a short film. Filmaka operates an online community focused on aspiring filmmakers, which allows them to create films and other programming for online contests.
