Fonality Ships Appliance

Los Angeles-based Fonality, a provider of Asterisk-based Voice-over-IP software, said this morning that it will begin shipping a new appliance with its trixbox Pro software pre-loaded. The firm said that the new alliance with make it simpler and faster to deploy its products. The firm had previously only shipped its trixbox Community Edition software on an appliance platform. Fonality's software, which is based on the open source Asterisk PBX software, is used by small and medium businesses to replace their legacy PBX phone systems. The firm's trixbox Pro software provides additional functionality and tools on top of the firm's open source version.
