FoxNext Buys Aftershock

Los Angeles-based FoxNext, the virtual and augmented reality, mobile, console/pc games and location-based entertainment unit of Twentieth Century Fox Film and Fox Networks Group, announced today that it has acquired Aftershock, a developer of mobile games. Aftershock has locations in both Los Angeles and San Francisco. Aftershock is led by Aaron Loeb, who becomes President of Studios for FoxNext Games. Aftershock was developing a multiplayer, mobile strategy game based on James Cameron's AVATAR franchise, among other projects. FoxNext said the acquisition is its first since it was formed in January. FoxNext is led by President Salil Mehta. Financial details of the transaction were not announced.
