Gateway Rolls Out Security Offering

Irvine, California-based Gateway has rolled out a new security offering targeted at small business and consumer customers. The PC maker said that its new GatewayShield offering will provide both hardware and software features to provide security, including hardware data encryption, network access authentication, and remote deletion of data on missing notebook PCs. The firm said that it will bundle a number of software packages, including Computrace Complete and Topio Data Protection Suite, along with a suite of encryption, application recovery, deletion, and adware/spyware detection software.
