Gemstar-TV Guide Launches Online Video Guide

Los Angeles-based Gemstar-TV Guide has launched an online video guide, at video.tvguide.com, that focused on both professional and independent video content. The firm said it will index videos from more than 55 major entertainment focused Web sites, an allow users to search for those videos using show names, descriptions, and keywords. The new guide does not host the videos, but will allow users to click through directly to the content sites to access the content. Indexed content currently featured on the site include clips and promotional videos from NBC, ABC, Fox, and other major networks.
