Helio Rolls Out Ocean Handset

Los Angeles-based Helio has rolled out the firm's new Helio Ocean mobile device, saying today that its new "dual-slider" 3G handset provides connections into instant messaging, text messages, picture messages, and emails, along with music downloads, an HTMl browser, GPS-enablement, and other features. Helio's Ocean is a direct challenger to T-Mobile's Sidekick. The phone features connections into instant messaging networks, including Yahoo! Messenger, AIM and Windows Live Messenger, a high resolution 2.4-inch display, and stereo speakers. Helio is MVNO backed by SK Telecom and EarthLink.
