Hulu Offers Up Free Mobile Clips

Los Angeles-based Hulu said Wednesday that it will begin offering up free clips from the site to mobile users--the first time that Hulu has offered up content to mobile devices outside of Hulu Plus. According to Hulu, it will offer up a "curated collection" of TV clips on the site to mobile users, free of charge and without need to login to the site. The new clips are available via Hulu's mobile web interface, at Hulu.com. Hulu did not say why it has decided to start offering content on mobile outside of Hulu Plus, which looks to be a major departure from the company's efforts to drive subscriptions to Hulu Plus by making its content only available through the premium service's apps.
