Independa Raises $2.35M

San Diego-based Independa, which develops remote health management and monitoring systems for the elderly, said today that it has raised $2.35M in a convertible note funding. The firm said the round included Miramar Venture Partners and City Hill Ventures. $1.6M of the funding had been announced by the company last September. Indpenda also said it had also raised $200,000 in debt funding from Silicon Valley Bank, also last year. Independa, which is headed by Kian Saneii, develops systems which can be used to monitor the health and activities of the elderly, and is targeted at allowing elderly care recipients to live independently longer in their current residences.
