LA Dodgers Opens Door On First Accelerator Program

The LA Dodgers has opened the doors on its first, startup accelerator program class this morning, unveiling the 10 companies included in the first LA Dodgers Sports & Entertainment Accelerator. The accelerator begins today, and runs through a Demo Day in November at Dodger Stadium. Among the companies participating in the program are Appetize (mobile POS for live events); Doorstat (business foot traffic and demographics analysis); FieldLevel (sports recruiting network); FocusMotion (movement tracking technology); Kinduct (health and fitness software); LeagueApps (local sports organization); ProDay (sports workouts with professsional athletes); SidePrize (fantasy sports); Swish Analytics (fantasy sports); and Yezno (sports polling).

At least three of the companies are originally from Los Angeles, including FieldLevel, Appetize, and Focus in Motion. The Dodgers Accelerator is investing $120,000 in funding in each of the startups, which all will be part of a coworking space in LA, and also gain access to the Dodgers organization, mentors, and more.
