Latest Mars Curiosity Tie In: Music From Mars With will.i.am

The latest Mars mission out of Psaadena's NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory has another interesting tie-in: a song dedicated to space exploration from musician will.i.am. NASA said today that will.i.am will be debuting a new song, to be broadcast from the surface of Mars via the Curiosity rover. The debut--to be held at 1 p.m. today--will be of a new composition "Reach for the Stars", specifically composed around the themes of science, technology, and space exploration. NASA said the move is part of an effort with Discovery Education, to promote a new science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics with its assets, including the Mars Curiosity Rover. NASA has been quite involved in commercial tie-ins into this latest Mars mission, having just announced a deal with Angry Bird maker Rovio last week on a special, Angry Birds Space "Red Planet" update.
