LightPointe Names CEO

San Diego-based LightPointe Communications announced that it has named a new President and CEO. Jim Cady joins the company from WatchGuard Technologies, where he was President and CEO. He also has served at Rio Digital Audio and Diamond Multimedia. The company also appointed Bob Preston SVP and Chief Marketing Officer. The company did not make a statement on the fate of its previous CEO, John Griffin. Preston has experience at Storm Technology and Xircom. LightPointe is designing optical wireless products using free-space optics (FSO).
