Linksys Rolls Out Wi-Fi Range Extender

Irvine-based Linksys has rolled out another Wi-Fi range extender on Thursday, saying its new device will allow users to boost their Wi-Fi signal to coverage by up to 10,000 square feet. Linksys said its new, Linksys AC1200 Amplify Wi-Fi Range Extender includes a built-in power output, and automatically detects and amplifies a router's Wi-Fi signal into such areas as remote areas of a home, basement, or backyard. Linksys said the router retails for $119.99. Belkin--which is the parent firm of Linksys--has said in briefings with media that range extenders are one of the company's major growth areas.
