Los Angeles Tops Green Buildings List

Los Angeles is ranked number one on a just-released list of the Top 25 cities with the most ENERGY STAR labeled buildings, according to the EPA. According to the EPA's list, Los Angeles was ranked number one, with 293 buildings with a total floorspace of 76 million square feet, saving around $93.9 million in energy costs--or around 34,800 homes worth of electric power. LA, which was also ranked number one in 2008, beat out Washington, DC., San Francisco, Denver, and Chicago among the top five cities. San Diego was ranked at number 17, with 58 buildings and 9.7 million square feet of ENERGY STAR labeled floor space.
