Morphlabs Raises $5M

Manhattan Beach-based Morphlabs, the developer of cloud computing products headed by Winston Damarillo, announced this morning that it has raised $5M in a Series C funding round. According to Morphlabs, the round was led by Japanese strategic partner BBT, as well as a private, Indonesia-based investor group. The firm said the funding will go toward deployment in the ASEAN and North American area. Morphlabs develops products used to manage the deployment of cloud-based infrastructure. The firm's flagship product, the mCLoud DCU, are hardware appliances which make it easy for data center providers to provide cloud-based computing to clients. Morphlabs also said it anticipates additional funding announcements before the end of the year. Damarillo is known for founding GlueCode, which he sold to IBM in 2005, Logicblaze, which he sold to Iona Technologies in 2007, and for founding Webtide, which was sold to Intalio in 2009.
