MySpace, Interscope Launch Record Label

Los Angeles-based social networking web site MySpace and Interscope Records said today that the two companies have launched a new recording label called MySpace Records. According to the companies, the new label will use the MySpace web site community to discover, sign, and market emerging artists. The companies also said that the new label would use the online service to promote tour dates and allow fans to interact with bands. MySpace Records will have its own marketing, publicity, and A&R business units, and use Interscope for development, production, and distribution. The new label has signed Hollywood Undead, an unknown band discovered through MySpace.com.
