MySpace Taps Security Provider To Find, Delete Predators

Los Angeles-based MySpace.com announced this morning that it is in an effort to tap the technology of Sentinel Tech Holding, a provider of online identity and background verification, to search for the profiles of registered sex offenders on its web site. MySpace will taps Sentinel for technology to block convicted sex offenders from accessing its online networking web site, using state and federal databases for identification. The database will draw from the background information on 550,000 offenders in the U.S., and the software will immediately delete any found registered on MySpace.
