Myricom, Emulex Tie On High Performance Computing

Arcadia-based Myricom, the provider of low latency, 10 Gigabit Ethernet and other networking adapters specifically aimed at the high performance computing (HPC) market, and storage networking hardware provider Emulex, which is based in Costa Mesa, said today that they are in a strategic partnership. According to the two, Emulex will offer up a new line of High Performance Networking (HPN) products, which are based in Myricom's FastStack application acceleration software. The two said they will jointly develop and market additional FastStack application acceleration software. No financial details of the partnership were announced. The companies said the partnership will help extend Emulex's reach into such areas as High Frequency Trading (HFT), network security, and cloud-enabled video distribution. Myricom's adapters and software are specifically designed for low latency applications. The company is a spinout of Caltech.
