Napster Opens MP3 Store

Los Angeles-based Napster said late last night that it has launched a new, DRM-free MP3 store, specifically aimed at luring in Apple iPod and iPhone users. The provider of digital music downloads said that the new store will offer single MP3 tracks for sale at 99 cents, and $9.95 for most albums. Napster said it will offer 100 percent of its catalog in MP3 format. Until now, Napster's music download services did not support Apple's popular iPod music player. Napster's new MP3 store also offers high resolution artwork along with the MP3 tracks and albums.
