NextWeb Acquires Orange County Fixed Wireless Firm

NextWeb, a provider of fixed wireless Internet services, said today that it has acquired 1st Universe, a fixed-wireless service provider in Orange County. Terms were not disclosed. 1st Universe and NextWeb both provide fixed-wireless broadband connections, used by companies who want high speed connections. Fixed wireless competes with DSL or T1 connections. The companies target corporate accounts with pre-WiMAX networking equipment.
