Nirvanix Ties With Ocarina

San Diego-based Nirvanix, which operates a cloud-based storage service used for storing data over the Internet, said today that it has partnered with Ocarina, a provider of data reduction software. Nirvanix said that its software has been certified with Ocarina, and that the firms have conducted extensive testing and integration efforts which ties together Ocarina's de-duplication and compression products with the Nirvanix storage service. The certification covers the Nirvanix CloudNAS service, which creates a virtual network-attached-storage (NAS) device using Internet-based storage from the Nirvanix service for data storage. Nirvanix is backed by Intel Capital, Valhalla Partners, Mission Ventures, Windward Ventures, and the European Founders Fund.
