NovaStor Sells Backup Operations

Simi Valley-based NovaStor, a developer of data backup software and related services, announced Tuesday that it has sold its offsite backup service business. According to NovaStor, it sold the service to Data Storage Corporation, one of the firm's partners, based in New York. Financial details of the sale were not disclosed. NovaStor said it sold the service--which allowed customers to back up their data to the company's data centers for offsite backup--to remove the perception that it was competing with its partners, and also so it could focus on developing software to enable its partners. NovaStor said that the offsite backup service will continue to operate based on its technology by Data Storage Corporation. NovaStor's U.S. offices are in Simi Valley, with headquarters in Switzerland.
