Oomba Acquires GameWorks

Irvine-based Oomba, which develops cloud-based, e-sports tournament software, said on Thursday that it has acquired GameWorks, the operator of a national chain of entertainment centers. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to Oomba, it will use the buy of GameWorks to bring its vision for location-based e-sports and VR experience to locations across America and beyond. Oomba's CEO is Michael Williams. GameWorks has locations in Las Vegas, NV, Newport, KY, Laguna Hills, CA, Schaumburg, IL, Seattle, WA, Chesapeake, VA and Denver, CO.
