Paperlinks Adds Takeout Via QR Codes

Los Angeles-based Paperlinks, the QR code startup headed by Hamilton Chan, said this week that it has launched a new product, which uses QR codes to enable customers to order from takeout menus. The firm said that its new Order Takeout functionality allows restaurants to QR-enable takeout menus, allowing users to order their food by simply tapping on their phones. Customers scan a QR code on those ubiquitous takeout fliers using their mobile phone, which takes them directly to an ordering page--allowing users to immediately order and pay for food from the restaurant. Paperlinks did not say how much the service costs for restaurants. The new service takes those orders and delivers them to a restaurant via email or FAX, for pickup or delivery to the customer. The new service includes collection of payment via a web page.
