QUALCOMM Signs South Korean CDMA Manufacturer

San Diego-based Qualcomm (www.qualcomm.com) announced that South Korea-based Curitel Communications will adopt the company's BREWChat push-to-chat solutions for its new handsets. Curitel, which develops CDMA wireless phones, will use Qualcomm's BREWChat solution to develop push-to-chat-enabled handsets for the world market. Push-to-chat systems are being used to provide "walkie-talkie" style communications over wireless networks. The services are heavily used by the construction industry, field services and facilities management, and also being marketed to the general public.
