RealD Adds AMC Entertainment

Los Angeles-based RealD, a provider of 3D theater projection technology, has signed on theater firm AMC Entertainment as a customer of the firm. According to AMC and RealD, AMC is set to deploy up to 1,500 RealD 3D screens in the US and Canada. RealD's technology is used in conjunction with digital project systems to enable 3D movie viewing. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. According to RealD, the deal brings its total committed screens to 8,000 worldwide; the firm said it has approximately 2,600 of its 3D screens installed today.
