Security Firm Warns On Toxic Blogs

San Diego-based WebSense this week warned that blog web sites are increasingly being used by hackers to deliver keyloggers and other malicious software to unsuspecting users. WebSense, a provider of web security software, claims that blogs and blogging web tools are now being used to attract users to sites, and then fooled into downloading viruses and keylogging software. The firm said that most blog hosting companies do not provide antivirus protection for files posted on sites, offer large amounts of free storage, and do not require identity authentication to create and post a blog. Site like Blogger (owned by Google) offer free user accounts for creating and posting blogs.
