Sonos Upgrades Software

Santa Barbara-based Sonos, the maker of the user-friendly, multi-room wireless music systems, has upgraded its product, saying it now supports Android tablets, Slacker Radio, new features on Spotify, in addition to a number of other improvements. Sonos said that its Sonos Controller for Android now runs on Android tablet, letting users control their music systems via such devices as the Kindle Fire, Samsung Galaxy Tab, and others. The firm also said it now can stream Slacker Radio in the United States and Canada, one of many streaming services it can tap into via its systems. Finally, Sonos said that it is also launching a new "Sonos Labs" effort, where the firm will feature beta level music services for the company's systems; Sonos said the Labs effort will allow users to "test out" music services before official launch on its systems.
