Southern California Entrepreneurs Eye London's Tech City

A group of Southern California businesses are attending the Entrepreneurs Festival taking place in Tech City UK, looking to potentially set up shop and foster business partnerships in London. Today marks the start the festival, an effort to establish a center of technology entrepreneurship in England. Touted as both the first and largest of its kind in Europe, the more than 300 attendees will go through a weeklong boot camp where they will network with other entrepreneurs and pitch to more than fifty business mentors and investors. Hosted by the Tech City Investment Organization, a part of the UK Trade & Investment department, the event is a major component of the UK Government's ongoing efforts to promote London as Europe's leading destination for digital, creative and high-technology companies. The UK Government has been aggressively looking to spur interest in Tech City recently; as part of those efforts, Los Angeles-based Mobile Roadie was recently hired to develop a new, mobile application for the Tech City Effort, and released its app on Friday. That app provides information on what the UK government has done, is doing and will be doing, what's happening in Tech City including policy changes and new initiatives, content, and more.
