SpaceX In Deal With NASA For Software QA

Hawthorne-based SpaceX, the company which is developing commercial space vehicles, said Thursday that it has signed an agreement with NASA in a collaboration over mission- and safety-critical software for SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft. According to SpaceX, it will fund an effort by NASA's Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) Facility at Fairmont, West Virginia to provide full analysis of SpaceX's system software. SpaceX--which is funded by PayPal founder Elon Musk--is developing launch vehicles for carrying private payloads to space. The firm has a contract with NASA to provide Commercial Orbital Transportation Services for docking with the International Space Station.
