Startups Uncensored Events Headed Back To LA

Startups Uncensored, the popular series of events around creating and running startups, is headed back to Los Angeles, according to organizer and startup entrepreneur Jason Nazar. Nazar--who successfully sold his last startup, Docstoc, to Intuit back in 2013--told his contacts that he is "gearing Startups Uncensored back up" and plans a new series of fireside chats in 2016. Nazar did not say who will be the first guest for his events, which had been extremely popular with Silicon Beach startup entrepreneurs, investors, and others. Nazar recently raised $6.5M for a new startup, Comparably, which lets users search for information on pay for different job titles, broken down by market and gender. As expected, the service currently has a large amount of data for companies in the Los Angeles technology market. Nazar said that Comparably, for example, has found that founder/CEOs at Los Angeles tech companies are paid an average of $129,410, when those companies have 1 to 10 employees; as those companies grow to 11-50 employees, that jumps to $210,714 a year.
