Stir Connects Smart Desk With Fitbit

Los Angeles-based Stir, the developer of a "smart" connected desk which automatically adjusts to a user's position and activity, said today that it has connected its desks to the Fitbit. According to Stir, its desk can now automatically send data to a user's Fitbit dashboard via the desk's build in Wi-Fi connection. Stir said its desk tracks how long a user has been standing, extra calories burnt, as well as other information. Stir's $3,890 Kinetic Desk includes such features as a built in touch screen, tracking of a user's habits, automatic adjustment between sitting and standing position, a thermal sensor, and more; the company's founder and CEO, J.P. Labrosse, previously was part of Apple's iPod team and also was founder of RayTracker.
