SyncCast Acquired By Thomson

Anaheim-based SyncCast, a provider of content delivery network services for broadband media, has been acquired by Thomson and its Technicolor service business, Thomson said this morning. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Thomson said that it acquired SyncCast as part of an effort to roll out new digital production and online distribution solutions for its customers. SyncCast was founded in 1999, and provides application delivery and digital media delivery services, counting among its customers Microsoft, the Motion Picture Association of America, National Geographics, CBS, MTV, HBO, and LionsGate.
