TripUp Acquired By SideStep

Santa Clara-based SideStep, an online travel search aggregator, said today that it has acquired Los Angeles-based TripUp, in a deal that completed July 2nd. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. TripUp is an online social networking and community site focused on travel, and includes user-generated blogs, photos, videos, maps, and reviews of travel destinations. SideStep said it will integrate TripUp's social and community features into its services. TripUp was launched in August of 2006.
