TrueCar Hits One Millions Downloads On Mobile App

Santa Monica-based TrueCar, which provides a service to let users get upfront pricing on automobiles from dealers, said today that it has just surpassed 1 million downloads of its smartphone app. The company--led by Scott Painter--said that it has been seeing a big uptick in mobile usage, with more than 40 percent of its users using mobile devices to access its service. TrueCar's mobile app includes features as getting pricing and vehicle information at dealerships; ability to get quotes from dealers and configure cars they would like, and more. The company said about 75 percent of its installs are on iOS, with the remainder on Android.
