WiSpry Debuts New RF Tuning Chip

Irvine-based WiSpry, the developer of radio frequency (RF) semiconductors, said Thursdya that it has launched a new product. The company said it has launched a new, single chip solution which combines three tunable RF capacitors in a single package. The company's new WS1050 tunable RF capacitor is aimed at mobile device designers, and allows for the design of mobile devices which include a very small and thin smartphone antenna to support a wider range of frequencies. The tunable RF capacitors being supplied by WiSpry allow a single smartphone antenna to be adjusted ("tuned") across a greater frequency range, which WiSpry says can eliminate the need for a separate LTE (Long Term Evolution) antenna in mobile designs.
