Zag Bags NRA

Santa Monica-based Zag, which develops software to power online car buying services, has signed on the National Rifle Association as a customer, the firm announced today. Zag did not disclose the financial impact of the deal, but said that the NRA will use the firm for a new online car-buying program for its members. Zag's software provides a full, online automotive configuration which delivers full pricing on autos--including all optional accessories and options. Zag's software is being used by credit unions and other affiliate groups to power their automotive buying sites. The firm is venture backed by Anthem Venture Partners, Capital One Auto Finance, GRP Partners, Arcturus Capital, Callaway Cars and the Skoll Fund, and the firm's CEO, Scott Painter, was the founding CEO of CarsDirect.com.
