    ABC Launches Short Form Programming Group


    Disney-ABC Television Group said Thursday that it has launched a new group focused on original, short form programming. The new group, Stage 9 Digital Media, is launching with a new web comedy series, "Squeegees," which is being shown on ABC.com and YouTube. According to Disney-ABC Television, the series will be sponsored by Toyota. The new Stage 9 unit will be headed by Barry Jossen. According to ABC, the studio has a slate of more than 20 programs in production, including comedy, drama, animation and reality titles. The new short form programming unit will distribute its programming through video sites, online social networks, mobile, and other download services.
