    Ablation Frontiers Adds $12.8M


    Carlsbad-based Ablation Frontiers, a medical device firm developing treatments for irregular heart rhythms, said last night that it has closed $21.8M in a Series C financing. The round was led by Novartis Venture Fund, and also included new investors Affinity Ventures, Hexagon Investments, and Trellis Health Ventures. Prior investors Versant Ventures, Aberdare Ventures, and Pequot Ventures also were included in the funding. The firm said that the round would go towards a clinical trial of its medical device.
